Here are a some of the struggles you may be experiencing as a result of being exposed to or experiencing a traumatic event …

  • You’re experiencing flashbacks, nightmares or night terrors
  • You’re struggling with insomnia as you constantly replay the memories over and over in your mind
  • You feel unworthy and your self-esteem is fragile and at an all-time low
  • You find it hard to trust others and are constantly waiting for or expecting something bad to happen
  • You feel unable to express your true feelings and are frequently misunderstood by others
  • You’re harbouring residual anger towards others and finding it difficult to move forward with your life
  • Maybe you’re struggling with eating disorders or self-harming behaviours
  • Maybe you’ve started to present with similar behaviours to those which you have been or still are on the receiving end of and this terrifies you
  • Perhaps you’re using mind altering substances or rely on prescription drugs as a way or supressing or dealing with your emotions such as fear, guilt or shame

Here’s what those who have been exposed to or have experienced a traumatic event say they want instead …

  • To feel more in control of their thoughts and at peace within themselves
  • To let go of the anger, fear, guilt and shame and be able to move forward with their lives
  • To set clear boundaries, be treated with respect and feel equal in their relationships

How does the ‘Transformation of Worth Process’ help?

The ‘Transformation of Worth Process’ uses Integrative Therapy.  Integrative Therapy works with both the conscious and the unconscious parts of our mind; to deal with the traumatic events we have been exposed to or are experiencing.

Integrative Therapy is a ‘psychodynamic approach’.  An approach which considers the psychological forces that underlie human behaviour, feelings and emotions and how they relate to early life experiences.

Integrative Therapy involves the Psychotherapist drawing on a variation of techniques from different ‘schools of thought’, such as:
Psychodynamic- Gestalt Therapy, Life Story Work
Psychoanalytic- Transactional Analysis- Parks Inner Child Therapy
Adaptive Information Processing Therapy (CBT Based)-Eye Movement Desensitization Therapy; Brain Spotting and Integral Eye Movements

Please see Blog section on the website for more details on each of the above.

The ‘Transformation of Worth Process’ is NOT a one-size fits all approach.  It puts YOU firmly at the heart of the process.  The exact techniques used, will depend on what’s going on for you right now and the type of trauma you have been exposed to or experienced.
